PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy applies to the information Jack’s Family Fund (“JFF”) collects, including through any website or other online service (“Site”) and offline, including information collected from donors. This Privacy Policy describes our information collection practices, such as the types of information we collect regarding visitors to the Site (including donors) and how we may use that information. By using this Site, you consent to this Privacy Policy.  JFF is the sole owner of and the only organization that uses the personal information collected on this Site. We will not sell or rent this information to others under any circumstances.

Online Donations

JFF collects the following information through our secure online financial-transaction pages: name, address, e-mail address, phone number and credit card information. This personally identifiable information is used to acknowledge receipt of your donation for tax purposes and to include you on JFF’s mailing list if you choose to join it.  When you send a donation in honor or in memory of someone and request that an acknowledgement be sent to another individual or a family, we will use the name and address of that individual or family for acknowledgement purposes only.  The Site may also offer an account or personal profile, and JFF may require you to provide personal information to set up such an account.  An account may be required in order to schedule or modify recurring donations through the Site.  If you choose, or are provided with, a user name, password, or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential, as this information may be required to make changes to your account.

Refunds and Changes to Online Donations

JFF policy is not to refund online donations once submitted.  You may schedule, modify or cancel recurring donations through your Site account.   If you have any questions or concerns about your account or a donation, please contact JFF per the instructions on the Site.

Security and Payment Processing

JFF employ’s commercially reasonable security methods and technologies to help secure the personal information we collect and store. Donor information is stored within a donor management database within JFF. Access to the database is restricted to personnel with a legitimate business need to access or modify the information contained therein. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. We therefore cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us, or that we transmit to you, or guarantee that it will be free from unauthorized access by third parties.

JFF uses Elavon, Inc. (“Elavon“) products for payment processing.  Elavon represents that it fully adheres to PCI standards regarding secure storage of data, strong access control and other requirements. For further information on this subject please visit Elavon’s PCI Compliance page. Since we use a vendor to process credit card payments made through the Site and to store associated payment data, JFF does not directly collect such credit card information, nor does JFF store or have access to credit card information submitted online. For donations made offline, JFF may directly collect, store or have access to credit card information for processing payments.

Mailing List

JFF provides a separate online form to join our mailing list for newsletters and other communications. The information we collect includes: name, address, e-mail address and phone number. This information is securely stored internally and accessed only when we correspond with our mailing list periodically during the year, either via e-mail or regular mail.  Please contact us if at any time you wish to be removed from the mailing list or if you would like to correct or change the personal information you have previously provided.

Grant Request Submissions

JFF collects information through our Site from potential grant recipients (“Grant Submissions”).  By participating in a Grant Submission, you agree to all the provisions, conditions and rules that we may publish governing such Grant Submissions.  Information included in Grant Submissions will be used to evaluate grant proposals any be disclosed to third parties in connection with such evaluation.

Similarly, if you post information on a third-party platform that references JFF, for example, by using a Twitter hashtag associated with JFF in your Tweet, your post may be published on the Site in accordance with the terms of that third party. Also, both we and the third party may have access to certain information about you and your use of the Site and the third-party site or service. In addition, we may receive information about you if other users of a third-party website give us access to their profiles and you are one of their “connections” or information about you is otherwise accessible through your “connections” web page, profile page, or similar page on a social networking or other third-party website or service. Any information we collect in connection with Social Networking Features is subject to this Privacy Policy. The information collected and stored by the third party remains subject to the third party’s privacy practices, including whether the third party continues to share information with us, the types of information shared, and your choices with regard to what is visible to others on that third-party website or service.
