Kids to Love Fundraiser: Week 3 Update

So far, more than $116,000 has been donated to Jack’s Family Fund’s Kid To Love fundraiser this year. Donations are being accepted at all Jack’s stores and online through August 6th.

The large majority of funds raised are thanks to the generosity of Jack’s customers making donations at the register when they place their orders. But a few donations are coming in as a result of social media and events. For example, a group of Jack’s employees competed in a biscuit eating contest this past Monday. This weekend, Jack’s in Pell City will be hosting a yard sale as part of their fundraising efforts.

2nd Annual Golf Tournament Raises $88,000

The 3rd Annual Tournament will be held in fall 2020.

Tour de Jacks Breaks Records

Taylor Kitchens shattered records October 27, 2018, when he rode from the Alabama-Mississippi state line to the Alabama-Georgia State line. He completed the 221 mile ride in only 11 hours and 47 minutes. Kitchens now holds the record for male cyclists age 50-59.  The previous record was 12 hours and 10 minutes.

Just as impressive, Kitchen’s ride raised $41,813 for the Jack’s Family Fund.

Congrats Taylor! And THANK YOU to all who supported him.

Jack’s Employee Rides Across State

Regional Director Taylor Kitchens will cover the state in support of the Jack’s Family Fund.

October 8, 2018:  On October 27, Jack’s Regional Director Taylor Kitchens will get on his bike in the small town of Cuba, on the MS / AL line. From there, he’ll head directly across the state to cross the AL / GA line in Phenix City. The trip is in support of the Jack’s Family Fund, the nonprofit arm of Jack’s Restaurants that exists to support the communities Jack’s calls home.

Taylor Kitchens has a history of using his bike to give back. In 2012, he participated in “Bo Bikes Bama,” raising $25,000 to support Alabama communities ravaged by the previous year’s tornadoes. In 2016, it was Camp Smile-a-Mile’s “Ride of Love,” where Kitchens generated nearly $20,000 for childhood cancer patients.

Kitchens sees his efforts as part of Jack’s larger corporate obligation to do good: “The Jack’s Family Fund is a great charity that helps individuals, families, and communities in their time of need. This year we have already given out over $50,000 in grants to people in need, and this month we will support Alabama foster children with a grant of $217,818 to Kids to Love.”

Please support Kitchen’s ride, Tour De Jacks, with an online donation.

Fund raises $217,000 for Kids To Love

After nearly 60 years of charitable commitment to the communities it serves, Jack’s Restaurants has launched its own separate non-profit foundation to continue its longtime commitment to community support. The Jack’s Family Foundation kicked off with the annual eight-week “Show Some Love” campaign in Jack’s Restaurants. The campaign featured a number of events, including car washes, spirit nights, and motorcycle rides to collect donations.

In the last two years, the campaign raised $178,000 and $157,000, respectively. This year, Jack’s Restaurants surpassed those numbers by a wide margin, as customers and employees in 157 stores raised $217,000 – the most Jack’s Restaurants has ever raised in a single philanthropic effort. Proceeds from the campaign, which ran from August 8 to September 25, will benefit Kids to Love, a Huntsville organization dedicated to helping Alabama children in foster care.

Jack’s has been working with Kids to Love for the past eight years; three years ago, Jack’s made Kids to Love their annual companywide fundraiser.

Jack’s #136 in Red Bay, AL, was the top-performing store in this year’s fundraiser, raising $10,773 throughout the eight-week campaign. Jack’s CEO Todd Bartmess says the Red Bay store is representative of the larger culture at Jack’s Restaurants, where customers and employees alike are dedicated to giving back to their communities:

“At Jack’s, we are privileged to be a part of improving the lives of foster children; one of our Core Values at Jack’s is to be an integral part of the communities where we do business. The Jack’s family – customers and team members alike – were passionate about doing their best to help out, and we are proud to partner with Kids to Love.”

“We love how Jack’s loves our kids!” says Lee Marshall, founder and CEO of Kids to Love. “This partnership is an amazing support for our programs that directly impact the kids we serve in foster care. The Jack’s employees are amazing ambassadors for Kids to Love.”

On October 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Davidson Farms, Kids to Love will receive a $217,000 check from Michael Greco, Chairman of the Board of Jack’s Family Fund, and Christy Malone, Jack’s Restaurants Brand Manager.
